Technical Support stance for AD Premium purchased as a addon for Office 365

I have just purchased some licences for AD Premium so I can try out Azure MFA and Conditonal Access.

I already use MFA for Office 365 but need the extended features with the full version.

Q/

Does anyone know the offical stance with support? When I contact O365 support they advised that this was an Azure product and that they could not provide any support.

Pre-sales say this is covered.

Who is right?

  • I wondered about this as well but from the Azure Active Directory Pricing page it says:

"Technical support for Azure Active Directory Free, Basic and Premium is available through Azure Support, starting at £21.61/month. Billing and subscription management support is provided at no cost."

For Enterprise Mobility + Security customers, it's apparently different, from the Enterprise Mobility + Security Support FAQs:

"Support is included with Enterprise Mobility + Security. You can submit support requests for Azure Active Directory Premium, Azure Information Protection, and Microsoft Intune through the Office 365 portal."

Not sure how it works when Azure AD Premium is bought as an add-on.

      Hi Cian,

I ended up sending a Tweet to Azure support who confirmed that the support lies firmly with the O365 guys.

They came back with the same FAQ article and paragraph one says it all which covers off AD Premium.

I had a case closed with O365 support as they referred me to Azure. Once they saw the article, they continued with the assistance.

      Thanks.

    • Since you are working on an Azure AD subscription, support should be provided by Azure support
