switching from personal to family

both my wife and I have a personal subscription to Microsoft 365.   Would it be advantageous to switch to a family plan?  If so, how do we go about switching? Do one of need to cancel and the other...

Below the advantages of switching from personal to a family plan:


1. Cost Savings: A family plan is often more cost-effective than two individual subscriptions. You can share the subscription with up to six people, each getting their own 1 TB of OneDrive storage.

2. Shared Benefits: All members get access to premium Microsoft 365 apps, advanced security features, and more.

3. Convenience: Managing one subscription for the entire family is simpler than handling multiple individual subscriptions.

 

How to Switch:


1. Purchase the family plan: One of you should purchase the Microsoft 365 Family plan using the same Microsoft account as your current subscription.

2. Cancel Personal Subscriptions: The other person should cancel their personal subscription. Make sure to turn off recurring billing to avoid being charged again.

3. Share the family plan: The person who purchased the family plan can invite the other person to join the subscription. This can be done by sending an invitation via email.
