[Solved] OneNote for Android Not Working
Sometime yesterday, OneNote started working correctly again. The problem appeared and disappeared quite mysteriously.
I suggest you to verify first in cloud, if you have your "notebooks" synced and updates, so, with any internet browser in inPrivate/incognito mode (Ctrl+Shift+P), go to https://onenote.com, access with your personal account, then you will see the list of your notebooks, verify if you have all your data there.
Then, in your Samsung device, remove the app cache, uninstall Onenote, then restart your device, finally install the last Onenote version from PlayStore, access with your personal account to Onenote and verify the app behavior.

Sometime yesterday, OneNote started working correctly again. The problem appeared and disappeared quite mysteriously.
bithead in 2024 still having this sort of issue. I found the only way to get access to personal notebooks is to open onedrive on android, find the notebook and then open it. it defaults to opening within onenote for android. Even after that, I cannot see any other notebooks and have to do this with any personal ones. Work notebooks show fine within the app to load.
On top of that. I signed out of onenote and then added my personal back in. After that I could not sign in to the work account in onenote because it would constantly prompt for a different email address password as if I ever typed it in. Again, opening onedrive and then opening my work notebook logged me into the app and then all work notebooks are available.
I get that business is crucial. however, personal means a lot and there are more and more issues with the apps over time instead of reduction in issues.
Thank you all for getting me going in the right direction. Logging off my account in the app was not an option as I had created notes only existing on that one device; I needed them to sync up to the cloud so they would not be lost (and logging off dumps anything you created locally).
What worked was kind of silly and ultimately involved me logging in again as if it I wasn't already logged on. It became obvious that I wasn't really logged in although the app made it seem as if I was. Here are the steps I took:
- Tap on the name of the notebook to get the list of open Notebooks
- Tap More Notebooks
Under my account/email address, it displayed "No notebooks found" - At the bottom, tap + Add account
- Sign in with my account/email address
Once I did that it synced properly, and my local notes made it to the cloud (and to my other devices).
