Can anyone explain how the search crawl is working in SharePoint Online? Is it based on continious crawl or on a schedule? Are there some official guidelines or metrics around how long we can exp...
The only official guidelines (I know off) are described in the SharePoint Online - Search service description

AFAIK detailed SLA-like information on indexing latency or crawl schedules is not available.
From my experience and (quite a few) support cases around Search related issues only non-official and rather vague statements like "Microsoft strives to meet the goal of 95% of changes indexed within 1 hour" are being provided.
