Remove footnote count - university account

Hi all, the title is pretty self-explanatory. I am using Microsoft Word 365 through my university account, but I cannot remove the footnotes from the word count. It seems weird, I've already clicked on 'word count' under review, but it only shows repeated words, characters, editor's score etc, no possibility whatsoever of removing the footnotes from the word count.

Any suggestions?
