Delete contents of mailbox including folders
- Aug 09, 2018
Hello Rufus,
I do not believe there is a way to do this by default in Powershell in Exchange Online.
EWS would need to be used in to delete the folders, an example of that can be found here - https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/exovoice/2017/01/12/delete-a-list-of-folders-from-specific-mailboxes-with-ews-managed-api-2-2-and-application-impersonation-in-exchange-online/
If you are uncomfortable going into API development, I would also recommend MFCMAPI which can 100% do this as well, through a GUI based application. You just load up a profile with MFCMAPI running and it will allow you to make admin type edits. But be careful with MFCMAPI you have access to stuff that if handled wrong can complete mess up your users mailbox. https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=mfcmapi

I have a folder (e.g. Folder A) that contains 50+ subfolders. When I try to delete it from Outlook 2010, I can't do it because it contains items. So I have to delete the subfolders' contents first before I can delete it.
