Policy based compliance in Teams
We recently started experiencing issues where Teams meeting hosted by our org are being recorded by the external participants. upon further troubleshooting, we found that external tenant are using policy based compliance for Teams meeting & call recording and when they join the meeting, the bot starts recording the meeting for compliance purpose. this is against our org policy and we were asked by our compliance to prevent this. just wondering if is there any way to prevent external participants from recording our meetings? called MS support and as always the Level 1 & 2 support are useless and do not know anything about this policy.
You can consider changing meeting options under Teasms.
By default everyone is a presenter and can start the recording.

we have recording feature disabled tenant wide using team’s meeting policy. This is from the policy based recording which is related to compliance and requires that tenant configure the policy by using Azure bot service and publish the bot. When user has policy based recording policy assigned, bot automatically starts recording and it does not matter if participant in meeting is internal or external and presenter or organizer.
