Outlook Navigation pane moved and compact Nav locked

A few days ago my outlook Navigation pane moved from the bottom of my window to the left. I saw the previous messages and resolution however I have an additional issue that I believe is related, and I believe is preventing me from moving the pane back to the bottom. When I navigate to the File>options >advanced >navigation.  I cannot make changes because the "compact Navigation" checkbox is checked and cannot be unchecked because it is grayed out.  Also from the Folder pane dropdown, I do not have an "options" in my dropdown, I believe it's all related.  I have searched everywhere and am out of solutions. Suggestions would be appreciated.
