Outlook keeps asking for random Exchange online passwords.
Hi,
I'm sure you must be familiar with the issue that Outlook keeps asking for the Office 365 exchange online password.
We have a user with Windows 11, Office 365, about eight exchange online accounts, and one exchange on-premises account configured in Outlook.
Outlook has intermittently prompted for passwords when computer is started up only for some Exchange Online accounts, but not all. Unfortunately, there isn't a discernible pattern to this occurrence. It happens randomly, and it does not always ask for the same account passwords, even that is random.
We are trying to figure out what the issue is.
A question:
- How does Windows 11/Outlook 365 Exchange online accounts cache passwords? We don't see any references in the Windows Credential Manager. We only see the account for the exchange on-premises login there.
Google was not helpful; possible solutions in Google mention deleting the cached login in Windows credential manager or mentioning that Microsoft changed the authentication. However, we see that Outlook logs in with the "bearer, " the latest authentication. So, this cannot be the reason for prompting for the password.
Any idea what the reason could be? It was working fine until a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if moving from Office to Home might impact it. It's a laptop. It's a small office, so there are no enterprise policies in place.
Thanks,!

- Fafa24Copper ContributorHi - I'm not sure what you mean with OST and clear.
Outlook can read the OST from all accounts. This is not a problem. Are you suggesting to delete the OST and let Outlook re-create it?
