Outlook 365 Stop attendee from changing event

Does anyone know if there is a way to stop an attendee of an event from changing or deleting an event on either Outlook 365 Windows PC or Outlook 365 for Android?

  • You men in their own Calendar? You cannot, each user "owns" the content of his mailbox, including any calendar items therein, and can do with them as he pleases.

My wife and I have our own MS accounts. When I create an event I invite her as an attendee. That way she can look at her calendar and know what is scheduled without me having to look it up on mine and reiterate it to her. Unfortunately she has a habit of changing or deleting events (she has early stages of dementia) because she is of the opinion that once an event is past, it is no longer needed. That said, here are two questions:

      1. If she changes or deletes, as I understand your explanation, it will not affect my calendar, correct?

      2. Assuming she does change or delete, can I replace it by just sending an update?

Yes on both questions, Unless she is the organizer and cancels the event, there will be no change to the event instance in your own calendar. At most you will receive a notification that she removed/declined the event, but this will not result in removing it.
You can send an update to any existing event at any point, which will result in re-adding it to her Calendar if it was previously deleted.
