OneNote notebook disappeared after synching error

I tried to access my notebook on my laptop and it kept giving me an error that said "Hang on while this page is synced... We're updating for another device to finish uploading your notes". 

I read that I was supposed to close the notebook and open it again... but when I did that the notebook disappeared and instead when I try to open that notebook it gives me this error now "this item might not exist or is no longer available. This item might have been deleted, expired or you might not have permission to view it. Contact the owner of this item for more information" and gives me a link that says "Go to my OneDrive". 

How can I restore the notebook I lost?
