OneDrive for Business

    Hi Vivek,

     

    Assuming you have synced a OneDrive Library with a local OneDrive client, the issue appears to be caused by a regression in either the OneDrive for Business Sync client or Office 2016.

     

    For those wanting to replicate:

    1. Sync a OneDrive Library with a local OneDrive client.
    2. Open an Excel file in Excel 2016
    3. Make any change and save
    4. Make another change to the same file and save

    Resolution - Option One

    The issue seems to be resolved in newer build of both products.

    • Patch OneDrive for Business beyond 17.3.6935.0609
    • Patch Office 2016 beyond 16.0.8201.xxxx

    Resolution - Option Two

    1. Right click OneDrive in the System Tray
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select the Office Tab
    4. Un-check "Use Office 2016 to sync files that I open"

    Note: If you un-check this setting, any changes that other people make to Office files will no longer merge together automatically so you may want to try the patching path first.
