OFfice365- Missing EMail

converted a user mailbox to shared mailbox and not sure if it completed because the mailbox does not show up under mailboxes or shared in the portal.  I tried using power shell to see if it was listed as inactive or soft deleted but its not.  I am not not sure where it went.  The license was removed, at what point I don't know (not sure that makes a difference).  If I reassign the license is a NEW mailbox going to be created or will it associate the original mailbox?   Is there any power shell commands I can run to see where this mailbox went?

  • If you can't find the recipient via Exchange Online PowerShell, check the Azure Active Directory Recycle Bin in the Office 365 admin portal if the user account is in a soft deleted state. Recover it will restore all related services and licenses.

  • So you removed the exchange online license? It probably never finished and got moved to soft delete. If it's within 30 days I would reassign the license, check the mailbox, then make it shared again.
