Office 365 Word cannot resize or rotate inserted shapes or items

Oh what fun. Our company also has this issue. We maintain a lot of documents in compatibility mode because of plugins and workflow/content creation tools requiring this. At least now I know what to tell my users: MS loves you as user. Just not the way we normal people define it. Anyway, who needs to resize a shape in drawing? A real word user will always draw the shapes the perfect size the first time. /s

    Most probably your company uses the Office 365 Business variant. According the documentation, you can make a regular support ticket for this case. This creates a chance that M$ will look at it (and - most probably - learn for the first time about this issue).

    Could you (or the IT staff of your company, who is the Administrator of your Office 365) go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/contactus and click "Open a service request in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center."? As the problem description you can copy/paste the bug description from the my first post in this thread (from December 20th)

      I did open a service request. They've asked for a step recording (it's so simple to check, why is it needed?). I'm waiting on a response.

      I requested MS support from my admin center. After a few minutes, I received a phone call from a ms support employe who told me that there is no support for *.doc files.
      The advice I received is to switch to docx files.

        Thank you! This explains our situation...

        On the other hand: this bug also occurs in the *.docx files, with compatibility mode turned on:

        Just save a *.doc as a *.docx file. While saving, make sure that in the File Save dialog the option located at the bottom of this window, named "Maintain compatibility with ...." is turned on. Then report that this bug still occurs in the *.docx files.

         

        (Our last chance is to check, if they support the compatibility mode in the *.docx files)
