Office 365 Adoption Preview
- Chad RodriguezJul 14, 2017Copper Contributor
Turning it on sounds great but Microsoft isn't being informative as to if this costs money and what load this puts on the traffic if any. With that said who here knows if turning this feature on is an additional cost and who is able to access this data, I would like to point out that a majority of my users have Power BI enabled - do they get access to all of this reporting and analitics?

No cost involved what so ever, you lose nothing by turning it on and gain everything from the insights it provides on Office 365 adoption and engagement in your tenant. From the https://support.office.com/en-GB/article/Office-365-Adoption-Content-Pack-77ff780d-ab19-4553-adea-09cb65ad0f1f:
Question: Is this content pack going to be available through purchase or will it be made available for free?
Answer: The content pack is available to all customers free of charge. You need to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=845347 to connect to the content pack. You can also customize the dashboards and reports with the free Power BI service.
The question about access is also covered:
Question: Who can connect to the Office 365 Adoption content pack?
Answer: You have to be either a global administrator, Exchange administrator, Skype for Business administrator, or SharePoint administrator in order to connect to the content pack.
A new role that would allow a user to read reports is also under consideration.
Hope that makes things a bit clearer!

Power Bi failed to refresh in my tenant. It happened twice. Not sure if the issue was from MS side or do we need to take action?
Oops, something went wrong.
Next refresh for Office 365 Adoption Preview is scheduled for 07/21/2017 01:11:15.

Check out the https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Troubleshoot-Office-365-Adoption-content-pack-a73632a1-62c8-4a13-8115-913773b30f93#bk_refreshfail article, this is what it says for Refresh failed:
Where you will see this message: Email from Power BI or failed status in the refresh history.
Cause: Sometimes the credentials of the user who connected to the content pack are reset, and not updated in the connection settings of the content pack causing the user to see refresh failure errors.
To fix this error: In Power BI, find the dataset corresponding to the Office 365 Adoption dashboard (Office 365 Adoption_preview.pbix) , choose schedule refresh and provide your Office 365 admin credentials.

Cian Allner, as usual, you are the "GURU"
Thanks for your guidance and I have refreshed the schedule and my credentials.
