You likely already know this Dean but I was surprised that you need to have your mailbox on Exchange online to both add and see these custom tiles. I had been using an admin account with no mailbox to do this originally. No go.

Was also surprised that it didn't add it to the launcher by default but required user to go to "My Apps" and pin it themselves.

Thanks, I was guessing that might be the case. I was using my admin account also.

This dependency sort of defeats the purpose of having a separate admin account.

Its just another example in the very long list of poorly documented feature dependencies.

        Hi Dean_Gross and Eric Adler

Thanks for the feedback. We're actively working to simplify this flow and aim to have a resolution by the end of the calendar year (dependent on some technical complexities).

With regards to Eric Adler's comment about pinning custom tiles - Any tiles added by an Admin will autmatically be visible in the 'NEW' and 'ALL' tabs on the app launcher, allowing users to then pin this to their custom 'HOME' tab. We are currently working on enabling Admins to mandate the appearance and location of certain tiles on their users 'HOME' tabs. Look out for more very soon!
