"New Outlook" Inbox not updating
JIC anyone else comes across this that needs it, we've found that doing a "Repair" on the New Outlook app fixes this issue. While these steps will sometimes prompt for local admin credentials, so far we have found saying no/cancel will still allow the repair to run
- Close New Outlook
- Open the Settings app in Windows
- Apps > Installed apps
- In Installed apps, search for Outlook
- Click the ellipses on Outlook (new), then select Advanced options
- If you have local admin
- enter your admin credentials
- If you do Not have local admin
- If you are prompted for admin credentials select "Cancel" you should still proceed to the next step
- If you have local admin
- Click the Repair button
- If you do Not have local admin
- If you are prompted 'do you want to allow to make changes to your device' select "No" the repair should still run.
- If you do Not have local admin
- Wait for the Repair to complete. This is usually pretty fast. A checkmark will appear next to the Repair button when it is done.
I am still getting this fault on my works email, both my personal email address and my shared mailboxes.
I get the notification to say I have an email but it doesn't update in the mailbox.
It seems to be worse when I am connected to VPN remotely, but also does it when I am on site and not using VPN.
This is the main thing that is stopping me transferring over as I want to (I like the features of the new outlook and find classic a bit archaic) - but as having up to the second access to emails is essential in my role I cannot change over while this very basic functionality isn't working properly.
