New email sync issue
How are you importing the PST? If it's directly via Outlook, that practically "locks up" the application until the upload is complete, so what you are seeing is expected. You can upload it via the O365 Import service or 3rd party tools. Or just use OWA for the duration of the import :)

I am importing via Outlook. Don't you think it would better if you could pause the sync of older emails or at the very least, it prioritised syncing new emails over older ones?
I looked into importing via the O365 Import service. Can you be selective about which folders to import and can you map the folders in the PST to the folders you want them to be imported into in the mailbox? I only found the option to import everything to a new root folder called Imported which is far from ideal.
Outlook on the web (aka OWA) is a workaround, but there are some limitations to this - lack of some third-party add-ins being one.
Thanks
