msoid not logner necessary?

Hi, I'm creating a new tenant and adding domain. I wonder what happened with msiod recored. In all documentation I can see it but Office 365 doesn't require it to complete setup.

Is it still necessary to create msoid for domain?

    I don't think it is.  It's still listed in the documentation but very specifically "only applies to Office 365 operated by 21Vianet" for services in China. Assuming that to be true, it's only needed in those circumstances.
