Migration from Microsoft Cloud Germany (Microsoft Cloud Deutschland) to Office 365-Services

We have a couple of customers in the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Germany. Many of them are missing Teams and other features which are not available in this tenant.
Since the end of 2019 Microsoft offers the migration from Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Germany to common Office 365 Services / Tennant:

We think about migrating our cusotmers. Has anyone already experiences with that migration?
Is any client reconfiguration of Outlook, ActiveSync or other services necessary?
For me it sounds like this will be a manual migration by an Office 365 Admin in the background.
