Migrating from O365 to On-Premise Exchange 2019
Hi All
We are currently having an O365 deployment with M365 E3 licenses. The Users are synced via Azure AD connect. Recently , the management decided to migrate some of the mailboxes to On-Premise Exchange 2019 and we have completed the Exchange Installation.
Now we are the stage of implementing the Hybrid Configuration with the Centralized EMail Transport. However , we have once concern that when mailbox is moved to on-premise exchange
- Do we need to unlicense the user in O365(otherwise he will be having 2 mailboxes)
- If so , what will happen to his access for other apps.((like OneDrive , Sharepoint , MS Office Apps , etc).
Appreciate your feedback.
Regards
Muralee
- Hi All
We were able to get a solution from the MS Support Team and I am sharing it here to benefit others as well.
The recommendation was :
* After building the Hybrid Configuration.
- Migrate the O365 mailbox to On-Premise Exchange Server.
- Go to the License & Apps under the User property in O365 portal.
- Unselect the Exchange Online (Plan 2) from the Apps list.
- This will ensure that the user mailbox is only in On-Premise Exchange Server and still he will be able to access the SharepointOnline, OneDrive and DesktopApp ,etc)
