Message Center - Filter or Search it
To state the obvious, the number of messages in Message Center is huge and impossible to remember. Is there a way to filter or search message history? (other than constantly editing preferences). If not, why not? The benefit of having this would be enormously helpful.
- Hi jack_46
You can filter and sort the list per article
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/admin/manage/manage-messages?view=o365-worldwide
But not search by things like Keyword. There is a uservoice open for it here
https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/273493-office-365-admin/suggestions/35252011-search-message-center
I share the frustration of this uservoice because you should be able to search by date, keyword etc inside the portal - that’s a pretty basic functionality. I would recommend to vote for this and push it up the agenda.
You could also leverage the Office 365 Service Communications API in order to get the messages from Message centre
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/office/developer/o365-enterprise-developers/jj984343(v=office.15)
But you could also (and probably more easily) use this Flow to push Message Centre notifications to email and then search for them in the mailbox.

Hope that answers your question!

Say Hey ChrisHoardMVP
Appreciate your prompt response summarizing what's available and workarounds.
Hopefully there will be some movement on core issue of functionality supporting multi level filtering and/or key word search of the message center (including archived items). Managing change is a big deal and having this functionality would be a huge productivity upgrade. Honestly, doesn't seem like it would be so hard to do... count me in on anything I can do to support such an effort.
Thanks,
Jack
