M365B Licence coverting to an E3 licence
Hello All,
I've converted a user from E3 licence to M365B licence recently. I set up online-archiving and applied all the usual retention tags and policies, (2 years). The user / company would like to convert back to an E3 licence.
Does this mean I need to manually drag all the emails in the users' online-archive folder back to Inbox before I make this change back to the E3 licence?
If so, is there a Powershell cmd I could use to force this move of emails for all users?
OR will O365 automatically put back the archived emails to the main inbox?
Many THanks
Not sure I understand the ask here, what does switching the license to E3 has to do with moving messages from the Archive mailbox? In any case, if that's what you want to achieve you have to do it manually, or by leveraging an EWS-based script such as this one: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Merge-mailbox-folders-cf1e9576
There are no built-in tools for the task.

Apologies for the confusion, original the query was to change to a licence without online archiving and I wondered what would happen to the archivd emails.
I think my query has been answered.
Thank you all
Hi NatashaOD,
You do not need to do nothing about archive because the E3 has it.
