Looking for info about Office 365 calendar options.

Is anyone aware of a resource that lists and describes the different Office 365 calendar options? To my understanding, there are:

  1. Exchange User Calendars
  2. Exchange Resource Calendar
  3. SharePoint Calendar
  4. Office 365 Groups Calendar

Am I correct in understanding each of these calendar options is somewhat different? Are there others? What are the feature differences among them?

Thanks!

  • There are some slight differences indeed, but in general you should think of them as Outlook (Exchange-based) calendars and SharePoint based ones. Might help if you let us know what is the intended usage?

      Thanks VasilMichev.

      Looking to accomplish several things.

      1. A calendar of various events and activities. Am thinking one for our overall organization and one for each of our two main departments.

      2. A calendar to display staff vacations.

      3. A calendar of report deadlines for our management team.

      4. Room reservation calendars for each of our conference/meeting rooms.

Ability to view all of these calendars in Outlook desktop client would be strongly preferred.

We're also rolling out some Yammer Groups (and maybe some Microsoft Teams). So, getting to some of these calendars from Yammer or Teams easily would also be beneficial.

      Thanks for any advice!
