Is it possible to remove retention info from label list?

Hello! I have been implementing retention labels in my organization's SharePoint sites. We are asking users to apply the labels but the retention periods assigned to the labels, which are visible in the label choice list, are making some of them pause. Is there a way to hide the retention period from the list? It's not something obvious to me when looking at the file plan settings in the compliance center.
