I forgot my word document password, can I recover it?
This is so frustrating! A while ago I set a password for an important Word document to keep it safe, but when I wanted to open it today, I found that I couldn't remember the password at all! I tried ...
If you can't recover the forgotten word password, look for a backup of the document before it was locked.
Steps:
- Right-click the document and select Properties.
- Go to the Previous Versions tab (if enabled).
- Restore a previous version of the file.
Alternatively, check if the file is stored on a cloud service (e.g., OneDrive or Google Drive) that supports version history.
This method is simple for MS Word password recovery but requires that backups or version history were enabled.
