how to check log download office 365

After some investigation, I found that download tracking depends on where the attachment is stored.
For regular Outlook attachments, there is limited visibility into download events. However, for files stored in SharePoint Online or OneDrive and shared through Outlook links, you can monitor:
- File accessed
- File downloaded
- Sharing link created
- Sharing link used
- User and timestamp information
These events are available through Microsoft Purview Audit (Unified Audit Log) and SharePoint audit logs.
This approach helped me successfully monitor file downloads and shared-link activities.
