How to change the template to an existing ppt presentation in Office 365

I would like to change the template to an existing presentation in Office 365, however the only documentation I can find online for doing this is:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-or-customize-a-slide-master-036d317b-3251-4237-8ddc-22f4668e2b56

this states (verbartim):

The Slide Master view is located in the Master Views group on the View tab.

In Slide Master view, the slide master is at the top of the thumbnail pane with the related layouts below it.

The problem being that when you click on the view tab on the powerpoint online editor there are master views anywhere to be seen.

Can someone please advise as to how in the version of power-point that comes with office 365 you can change the layout of an existing presentation.

I would assume that the functionality is only available in locally installed Office on your devices - not in Office Online (in your browser)

Try editing the file in your local copy of PowerPoint.

      Rob,

As you have correctly alluded to, this issue was down to my ignorance of not knowing that the online version of ppt was a cut down version of the one you can install locally.

      Juan,

It turns out that this 'Issue' is down to me not understanding at first that the online version of ppt is a cut down version of the one you can install locally.
