How the Focused Inbox replaces "Clutter" within Office 365

The Focused Inbox feature is rolling out across Office 365 right now. Here's how the new feature works and how it replaces the old and sometimes much-maligned Clutter feature. In effect, we swap one way of separating the Inbox into important/unimportant messages for another. https://www.petri.com/focused-inbox-office-365

This is great to see - I love have Focused Inbox on my mobile and miss it on my desktop.

And thanks for the very detailed write-up.

Thanks for the PowerShell commands for turning Focused Inbox OFF!

My tenant now has it off!

  • So have I got this right ? If my users still have Exchange 2003 then they won't get prompted to switch to focused inbox, and will keep using clutter ?

      Exchange 2003?

Neither Clutter nor Focused Inbox are on-premises features. Focused Inbox is being provided to users who have cloud mailboxes on Exchange Online as that's where the processing to separate inbound messages into the two views is performed.

      Did I misunderstand the question?
