How do I setup an automatic retweet in Microsoft Flow?

I'd like to automatically retweet any message from a specific account. For example, I have my own Twitter account and the marketing team manages a corporate Twitter account. Anytime the corporate account sends a Tweet, I'd like to automatically RT the message.

My First question: The trigger is 'When a new Tweet is posted' but it requires a search criteria. Is their anyway to set the trigger to be anything from a specific user?

Here's my current test flow:

1. When a Tweet is posted; search text: flow

2. Condition: Name contains gruberjl

3. if yes: Post a Tweet -> tweet text

The whole flow is connected to a test twitter account that follows the @gruberjl account

Then I post a tweet from my @gruberjl account and nothing seems to happen.

  • Maybe you're better off with one of those social management tools?
Also I think automatically RT'ing a message is no ideal, because if your corporate account gets engaged in a conversation with someone on Twitter (ie. a customer) then your account will be RT'ing every response.

Unlike IFTTT and Zapier, Flow isn't easy. It's complex and powerful! I finally started figuring out how to use it in different ways. I can add text to a sharepoint list and it's automatically shared to Twitter, and Facebook.

      Thanks for the help,
