This has been an ongoing issue for several years. It has been fixed several times but keeps coming back.

+1 for the ability to remove notifications. Some of the notifications are important (such as the data for an account will be removed soon because its license is gone), some are pure marketing and occupy more time than anyone would ever want them to. All should be controllable so that an administrator can dismiss the message and it never comes back.
