General Question: Microsoft 365 admin console tab label
I've never noticed before, but I do now. My admin tab label in any browser I choose, across several networks, displays as "Početak - Microsoft 365 admin center" via login through https://portal.microsoft.com .
I am not Serbian, my company has no affiliations with Serbia, and our regional settings are not Serbian. Yet, that "Početak" is the word for "beginning" in Serbian. I'm thinking maybe Serbian contractors or Microsoft devs maybe made a mistake? I cannot find anything relevant to this via searches, so maybe someone has an answer on here. Maybe I'm overthinking, but just curious. I'm also not a developer, so the answer might be something very innocent.
<*UPDATE 4/4/24*- Microsft appears to be rolling out a fix either regionally or all together. NA tenants look to be getting attention (ours is displaying correctly now). Looks like this was simply a language mishap, as pointed out in the noted "best response" in this thread. Thanks all for the interest and getting this noticed! >
- Admin.microsoft.com uses resources hosted on res.cdn.office.net for those tab titles. In this case, that request looks like this:

Although the path contains "en" as the lang code, the strings are (as everyone noted) in Croatian. All the other locales I tested (it, de, etc.) don't appear to have the same bug. Just "en." Also, res.cdn.office.net uses Akamai as a content delivery network, and this .js file is cached with Cache-Control max-age=630720000 (20 years?). So even if it was fixed on the origin servers, the Akamai cache would have to be purged, or they would have to use a new file path, and that appears to be their approach (this one has the release date /2024.3.28.1/ in the path).
This has already been confirmed to be a bug that Microsoft is working on by other members, I just wanted to provide some additional details based on what I see.

- Still an issue for me as of 4/3/24 11:30 EDT. When I saw this, I freaked out - probably because I watched a 60 Minutes segment about Russians shooting infrared beams into peoples' ears. I'm in a Washington DC suburb so I feel especially vulnerable. Glad to hear it's a code issue. 🙂
Also getting the Serbia tab names here South Florida tenant.
- I'm having the same issue and it drives me nuts. Have to run a complete scan and reinstall my chrome in my computer and it showed the same thing.
RS_Admin I'm seeing many of the other tabs displaying similarly. Look at the tabs under "Billing," for example.
Given this, my theory is that Microsoft has some "crossed wires" with respect to their regional language settings, as the labels seem, for the most part, to say what they should -- just in the wrong language.
- I hope so. I didn't see anything in the admin alerts or service notices. After 24+ hours there wasn't much info. Plus I have had weird stuff with admin pages for a couple weeks and thought it was just me (which it still could be). Just not very confident in the MS response.
- Noticed the same this morning. I had switched the URL to admin.cloud. Microsoft and thought that might be the cause, but I went back to the original URL, and I see the same.
- I just hit up 365 on twitter @Microsoft365 @MSFT365Status and maybe you should too. Let's get an answer since they don't seem to monitor their own forum.
- We're seeing this as well. It would be nice if MS would take notice.
Having the same issues using multiple accounts, browsers, endpoints and tenants. Reported the issue on 4/2 and status remained at investigating until today when it was changed to no issues found. We also have a support ticket open that hasn't been replied/assigned yet. Next ticket will include cyber attack as the title to see if that triggers a quicker response.
- This is still happening and the silence from MS is incredible. I am a U.S. user/admin and have noticed some weirdness over the last couple of weeks with 365 admin sites loading strangely or errors on load. I thought it was my machine and network but have since replaced my PC and network connections. This is very concerning.
- I have the same issue. I noticed if I click back and forth on some of the menu items, it sometimes show the correct tab label and then it shows these other labels.
