Excel Share missing option to send as PDF
- Aug 22, 2021I have exactly the same problem. The Share dialogue box is there for a millisecond then replaced with the Send Link dialogue box.
I have found a workaround. Once you are presented with the Send Link dialogue box, press Shift-tab and you will be sent back to the Share dialogue box.
Cheers

No solution yet but I have a workaround for sending the pdf.
File
Options
Quick Access Toolbar
All Commands
Send.
This will give you the necessary icon on your quick access toolbar - click and you get an option to send a pdf.

Thankyou
The bug has occured twice now that I am aware. Once when this thread was started - at which time I was able to replicate the issue. If was then resolved by an update.
The bug reportedly occured again recently but my shift-tab workaround did not work. Quick access toolbar workaround was proposed and seemed to work. I was unable to replicate the issue despite having precisley the same build number. It has reportedly now been fixed (again).

recently fixed by Microsoft. When this thread was made it was a bug that the option was missing.

I was able to find it. After I hit share and the Share a link option pops up, I have to hit the 3 dots at the top twice to get the Send as a PDF option. It's odd, but it works. Anyway, thank you so much for your quick reply.
- CateMetz24Jul 11, 2023Brass ContributorI hope so - I think it is an unintentional glitch on the part of Microsoft rather than a scheduled change of functionality.

Can you give me a bit more info on what they are seeing please.
What happens when they select the share button; send a copy; format ?
I can't replicate the issue on my tablet - it's working fine. So just whatever detail you give me would be great.
You could explore printing to pdf but this will involve an extra step for them having to then email the file to you.
Do you have a shared drive with them e.g. OneDrive, GoogleDrive etc.? If so they could do a SaveAs and save directly to the drive in pdf format.

I have my entire fleet of Electricians having this same problem. Unfortunately, the quick access toolbar is not an option for workaround. They are working from Samsung tablets with a limited version of excel. Do you have any other ideas that could help. I'm now having to convert every item they send me to pdf from my desktop before it can be saved into our ERP system.
