Excel 365 date format error

I can’t understand whats happening with these dates. I formatted the sheet to Australian yet every date entered is displaying differently, mostly US format. I’ve opened new tabs and repeated to no avail. Can’t seem to attach a pic here to show. What do I need to do to fix?
