error message when trying to edit a document in sharepoint
We are sometimes getting the following issue:
1) create or upload a new document in a sharepoint document library (sharepoint on office 365).
2) PERSON A checks the document out (using Edge browser)
3) PERSON A (same person) opens the document - in word online - then selects edit document - but gets an error - You cannot edit this document with another user....
sharepoint seems to think that another person has the document reserved - but that is not the case.
The workaround is to check the document back in and try again in Internet explorer - and you can edit ok.
Has anyone else seen this ?

Try to publish the affected document. Change the Draft Item Security setting to Any user who can read items.
