Enabling archive on O365 shared mailbox.
Hi, I am unable to enable archive on a shared mailbox which was moved from on-prem exchange recently and we have orphhened on prem exchange. Please suggest.
- You will need to assign a license to the shared mailbox in order to get archiving functionality.
Thanks Michael I assigned E3 license, but got following error" The following error occurred during validation in agent ‘Windows LiveId Agent’: ‘Can’t enable the archive for ‘John’ because this user object is synchronized with the on-premises directory. To enable a cloud-based archive mailbox for this user, you must use your on-premises Exchange admin center or Exchange Management Shell." Please suggest. Thanks
Dud you try to use the On-Prem exchange server as suggested?
