Does Teams uses Skype for Business Server backend?

Does Teams uses Skype for Business Server backend?   Or have a separate infra?   Thanks

Also for your information, Teams uses a completely re-designed architecture for voice and video-calls that is not built on top of Skype for Business. It's completely new.
