Disappearing applications

Hi, I had purchased a student version of Microsoft office, which included word excel and one note, a while back. After the last Microsoft update the files have disappeared. I can no longer open my documents without purchasing another version of 365, which is a little frustrating. It may have been a quirk with the download but I cant fathom it, I'm no expert. Is there anyone out there who has similar issue, or can provide a solution please

    This is a common issue after Windows updates. Here’s a quick fix:

    1. Check if Office is still installed:
      • Open Settings → Apps → search for Microsoft Office
    2. If found, run Quick Repair:
      • Control Panel → Programs & Features → select Microsoft Office → Change → Quick Repair → Repair
    3. Check your Microsoft account:
      • Go to office.com and sign in with the account you used to purchase Office – you can reinstall from there
    4. Find your documents:
      • Look in your Documents folder
      • Search for files ending with .docx or .xlsx
      • Check C:\Windows.old if it exists
    5. If Office disappeared completely:
      • Use the Office uninstall tool at aka.ms/SaRA-OfficeUninstall-sarahome
      • Then reinstall from your Microsoft account

    Key tip: Make sure you sign in with the same Microsoft account used for your student version. Let me know if you need help with any step!
