Okay, I found my contacts under suggested contacts in OWA. Not showing up in Outlook but Outlook is missing the category suggested contacts. So I guess I worked with suggested contacts in my previous Outlook life and OSX just used them as normal contacts, so I never bothered. Anyway, this is solved then.
