"Configure Approvals" missing from SharePoint lists

Hi, we would like to use the Approvals functionality in SharePoint lists. We are not interested in using the two templates to access this functionality because we already have a longstanding List with flows attached that I don't want to have to recreate. 

 

However when I click AUTOMATE, the option for CONFIGURE APPROVALS doesn't appear. 

 

Is this something we have to turn on elsewhere? Versioning is turned on for this list. Or is it just not rolled out to everyone yet? I thought they were looking at full rollouts by August.

      It eventually showed up for me, months later. I'm guessing because it's a timed rollout? It does show on existing lists, not just new lists.

        I also have this problem. From list to list even within the same site, the Configure Approvals is either visible or not. I wonder if this has anything to do with the list being imported from exel originally... Although, the other ones that do have access to Configure Approvals were imported in much the same way at the same time, so idk. I just want it to work.
