Change username office activation

Hello,

I have an active tenant with users using the onmicrosoft.com domain to authenticate and active office. This has been in place for a while.

I am currently setting up AD Sync and will be changing their usernames from the onmicrosoft.com domain to their company domain name.

 

Will the existing copies of Office Pro Plus that are installed and activated stay activated, or is there a process I will need to go through to re-activate with the new username?

    Worst thing that will happen is users will be prompted to enter their credentials, advise them to use the new UPN and it will all be OK.
