Can no longer use Skype for Business Basic since move to Teams

So users can still log into Skype Business Basic (Office 365) but its not functional--its a bare bones program now with no contacts or video/audio options.  In Teams the only people I can Skype are in my organization.  I need to Skype people outside the organization. Before this change took place I had a lot of Skype contacts they are now gone

    I feel your pain!

We have just gone the same process. Take a look at the link as this helped me.

  • That's something you should address to your admins, they can switch you back to using SfB mode if needed. Generally speaking you can use the same features in Teams, but federation does have its rough edges still...

VasilMichev  How do I use "team" for that?  In other words if I have a person who uses Skype on 365  not in my organization how would I go about being able to video call them?

      • Go to chat tab, new chat -> enter email address of the Skype user!

This will work as long as federation is on and not restricted to specific domains!
