Can I open outlook contacts from a button in my add-in pane?

I have an Outllok web add-in which the user can access when composing a mail.

I want the user to click a button on my add-in's pane to open the Contacts, just as clicking "To" or "Cc" would, and to retrieve and contact(s) which is/are selected.

1) can it be done?

2) how?
