autodiscover.xml, server domain different from mail address domain - pls help

Dear experts,

forgive me if I post in the wrong forum. The admin of my college cannot fix this issue, so I'm trying to help him.

We have an Exchange Server running and we have teacher mail addresses like tom.stone@school-city.de, the domain is school.local and the server has the address remote.school-city.de. Is there a way to have an autodiscover.xml file with this information included in the syntax or is this issue more complicated?
