Archiving Outlook/Hotmail’s emails on iMac

I used the archive option in my Hotmail account to store 50g of emails. They are in a .olm format. My question is are these easily accessible to me? I need to delete a ton of emails to unfreeze my Hotmail account. Does anyone have any experience with this?
