365 toolbars / ribbon
I'm new to Office 365, migrating from Office 2003.
In a particular Excel file I use macros and one of them generates a Custom Command Bar.
I also have a custon Excel 2003 "menu-like" toolbar, which shows in all of my 2003 Excel files.
In 365, under the Add-ins tab, both these appear, which is exactly what I want (though I don't know what makes the custom tool bar appear in 365 - it's on a template in 2003)
However the problem is that they appear in a deep band at the top of the screen which is the same height as the standard ribbon.
This is taking up some 20% of screen height when the 2 bars need much less space.
Is there a way to reduce the space occupancy to just enough for the 2 bars.

- Hi donwb1505,
You can’t modify the size of the ribbon itself (unless you modify the screen resolution) as per article

However, there is a few options
You could just show the ribbon tabs where the ribbon only displays where you select a tab and then hides when you go back to the sheet.

Or, you could look to customise the commands in the tab which may shrink from two bars to one (may work)

Would recommend the first option as it’s more likely to give you what you want and save the most space.
Let me know how you got on. I hope I have answered your question. If I have please like and set as the solution. If not, let me know what more you need.
Best, Chris
