FAQ: Time to view transactions and process payments

Q: A few questions related to transactions...

  • When a customer buys a private plan or a private offer, how long does it take until the partner sees the transaction in the Partner Centre? Is Earnings - Payments Report in Partner Centre - the right place to look for all transactions? Alternatively, is there any other place, which displays transactions near real time?
  • Time to process payments: I heard that Microsoft typically pays ISVs shortly (15 days) after the billing event, which I understood as a "time after the customer clicked on the purchase link/button + subscription has been activated". Payout schedules and processes however, suggests that it takes 3-4 months , depending on the customer's subscription (CSP, EA, MCA). Did I understand this correctly?

A: Partners can see the status of a private offer and the purchase status of included SaaS products within Partner Center. Notification Contacts for a private offer may also receive emails when the status changes. ISV to customer private offers - Marketplace publisher | Microsoft Learn

Transactions typically may take up to 48 hours before they appear in Earnings report. There are different payout schedules to partners based on the type of product sold and the type of agreement the customer has with Microsoft. Eligible earnings are typically paid to partners on the 15th of the month for prior months sales. See Payout schedules and processes - Marketplace publisher | Microsoft Learn

For Partners, Earnings workspace is going to have the most consolidated view of transactions including incentives and upcoming payments to the partner. Insights workspace has Revenue, Order, and Usage reports all specific to Marketplace.

    Great insights.

I have a question regarding the earnings page. When partners receive campaign/benefits payouts, we usually also have a remittance document available, that our finance department can use for documentation in case of an audit. When receiving payouts from selling in the Azure marketplace, why do partners not receive a similar type of document for that?
