Microsoft’s Effort to Develop a Broad People Platform
Nello Sir TonyRedmond!
This unification is interesting. There's already a ready-made example for Copilot on GitHub.
However, in my view, it's an extreme form of control. When applied to Agents, it becomes even more complex.
Is this responsible AI? I don't think so — especially considering the 'external data' aspect. In other words, it enables pulling information from anywhere about a person and profiling them.
HR departments will love it. But delegating the profiling of individuals to AI is extremely dangerous. We've seen the recent case of Gupy, which used AI to guide hiring decisions.
It's a fascinating topic, but it borders on governmental surveillance.
To me, this is unethical and will inevitably be applied to people management, with AI profiling individuals. At this point, we enter a serious debate about the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Best regards,
Tiago.

It's up to individual tenants to decide whether to use the People platform. If they do, it will be there for them. If not, they can ignore it.
