Considerations for Uninstall Active Directory On prem
Hi Team. I have a customer who wants to remove the Active Directory on prem.
I read some considerations:
- Apps, printers, share folders, GPOs not working.
- Certificates not working.
Requirements
- Azure AD Premium and Intune license.
- Enroll devices in Intune.
I have doubts:
- Is need create all users un AD Premium?
- What about computers in Active Directory on prem, first enroll computer in Intune?
What other things should I consider?
Thanks,
- Hi
I have blogged about this in the past: https://365bythijs.be/2020/08/19/hybrid-vs-azure-ad-join/
But to answer your question: Don't add the devices to AD, but add them to AAD immediately. It's recommended that all users have AAD Premium/Intune in order to allow them to enroll into Intune.

A question, currently the computers are in an active directory domain and in Azure AD join.
For to be alone in Azure AD Join, is necessary remove from the domain, keep them in Workgroup and execute for Azure AD join again?
According to your procedure, new profile is created.

This will create a new user profile for the user
