Hybrid Update Agent download fails
Hi there,
last Friday I was successfully able to execute the HCW with the full classic deployment. As we had some sharing issues we tried the full modern as well. But we were able to execute the HCW and finish it all the time.
This morning there was an update for the HCW and suddenly we had issues with the part Hybrid Update Agent download which always mentions "Content Not Found"
We tried this several times throughout the day, but unfortunately the error is still the same.
Is there a general issue with the location of the HybridAgent file since the HCW has been updated?
Kind regards
woelki we've just released a new HCW build. Please give it a try.

Hello everyone,
I ran into this issue myself this morning. I removed the HCW application and downloaded it again directly from Exchange ECP > Hybrid, and after that it worked.
So the problem seems to be resolved by following these steps.

Hello world, this is absolutely terrible, when will it be fixed? Is there any way to use hcw without agent update?
- woelkiIron Contributor
No, unfortunately this is bad coding to make this dependency. TBH the needed hybridagentinstaller.msi is from 2019.

Thanks for reaching out. We're working on an update to get this addressed. In the meantime, please download the latest version of the hybrid agent from here: https://aka.ms/hybridagentinstaller.

I installed the MSHybridService.msi via https://aka.ms/hybridagentinstaller.
Then I started the HCW again and it wants to update itself. Unfortunately, this fails.[...] ERROR SUMMARY Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log. * Activation of C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Corporation\Microsoft Office 365 Hybrid Configuration Wizard.appref-ms| resulted in exception. We released a new HCW build earlier today. It seems you tried downloading it while it was still being published. Please give it another shot now.

Hi Lukas, great that you are already on it. But the hybrid agent installer itself doesn't help us, does it?
So the HCW will still abort at this point. Or is it possible to place the MSI at the right location, so that the HCW will recognize the downloaded file?
I already tried this yesterday with the temp folder location under %appdata%- LukasSMSFT

I've opened a ticket through MS Premier Support and linked this thread there. They are currently escalating the ticket internally, so let's see how long it takes.

I am experiencing the same issue. The Hybrid Configuration Wizard fails to download the Hybrid Update Agent with “Content Not Found”. Network and DNS look fine on our side, so it seems to be a Microsoft-side problem. Any update on this?

Same here. Hybrid configuration, no content.
